Teaching Knowledge

In order to be a successful educator, it is necessary to reflect upon a person's teaching. This might include videotaping classes, getting observed with a colleague, asking for help with problems or finding new ways to teach a topic. Becoming a reflective tutor is some thing I have attempted to be when student educating and intend to continue working on. The activity which i performed with my band of students is referred to as the Peanut Butter and Jelly dance. This lessons took about 35-40 moments to apply. I started off with supplying the students a lot of information on what it is that we had been going to be doing. Then i gave a lot of background information about the lesson. I attempted to elicit before knowledge from the students by simply creating a KWL chart with all the students on where almond butter and jelly originates from. In doing this lesson I wanted to make certain that the language employed was well suited for the age group and that the details wasn't too much or also easy for the kids. So I would my research and every thing turned out fine. I think the students had a lot of fun with the lesson because they will interacted perfectly. The objective of my lesson was to teach the students how to use no verbal body gestures in the form of a dance in order to make up the sub. non-verbal " channels” of communication (how something is said) are often essential than words and phrases alone (what is said). There are many different " channels" of non-verbal conversation: facial expression, hand actions, body moves (" kinesics" ), touch (" haptics" ), and personal space (Exploring Nonverbal Interaction, 2005).
