The Course of the Haitian Revolution

1789: French Wave. French Nationwide Assembly released ‘Declaration of Rights of Man'. The keywords of the French revolution- ‘Liberty, Equality and Fraternity' soon pass on to the People from france Colonies. 1790: The Nationwide Assembly awarded the West Indian devices to make their particular laws. The mulattoes dreaded the whites tends to make more racist laws. There was clearly an defeated mulattoe rise ? mutiny against the whites. This rise ? mutiny was led by Vincent Ogé and Chavannes. 1791: The Nationwide Assembly gave coloureds the justification to vote. Whites protested from this and would not want to place the law in essence in their colonies. Mulattoes in desperation attempted to build armies. They even armed the slaves. The slaves would not fight for the planters or perhaps mulattoe, but also for themselves. There was a servant revolt led by Boukeman and Jean Baptiste. This kind of revolt was for blacks against coloureds and whites. 1792: The arrival of a revolutionary force with its head Sonthonax. 1793: Sonthonax declared emancipation of slaves, due to the refusals with the mulattoes and whites about terms. United kingdom landed in St . Domingue, with an army under Basic Maitland. 1794: British overtook St . Domingue southern charite.

1794-1798: Toussaint deserted Spanish army in Santo Domingo.

Toussaint joined with Sonthonax's forces.

Toussaint had risen up to be leader of the combined French groundbreaking and dark army. (1797) Sonthonax great soldiers keep St . Domingue. (1798)
